Local Business Show their Community Spirit

On August 11th, 12th and 13th, employees of local businesses got their hands dirty for Brant United Way’s “Days of Caring."

As part of the lead up to Brant United Way’s Annual Campaign, Lynden Park Mall, DistribuTech and The Williamson Group mobilized teams of employees to work in the community during August, while S. C. Johnson employees will be helping out at an event in September. Volunteers performed a variety of tasks of for Brant United Way’s Member Agencies, including landscaping, painting, and minor renovations.

For local businesses, Days of Caring were an opportunity for their employees to bond with each other, while demonstrating their commitment to the community and gaining an appreciation for where their donations to United Way help out. For Member Agencies, the day was an opportunity to have much-needed work done that can’t always be afforded given their tight budgets.

At Brant United Way, we are pleased with the success of this community-building event, and are happy that the weather cooperated! We are hopeful that “Days of Caring” will become an annual event.

If you have a business which would like to be involved in the United Way, we encourage you to get in touch with us. Thanks to those businesses which participated in Days of Caring and showed just how much they believe in their community!
