GenNext is working with Brant United Way and its community partners to get people in their 20s and 30s engaged in our community through volunteering, giving and action. We want to generate awareness and knowledge about social issues in Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations of the Grand River and link young adults in our community to the issues important to them.
GenNext is a team of young people in their 20s and 30s who are committed to giving back to the Brant community in new and diverse ways. We support the Brant United Way and their funded agencies in their mission to give, volunteer and act.
Join us if you want to meet great people in your community and work together to improve the lives of those around us. Giving can be easy. Volunteering can be fun. Action can be power. Let's create change together!

Recap from Art Out of the Box
WOW! What a fabulous night on the town in Brantford. Thank you to everyone who came to Art Out of the Box, our volunteer-raising event. It was a wonderful success. In total, all of our bids raised a combined 1,200 volunteer hours for our community!
Whether you walked away with a volunteer connection and a winning prize, or if you just enjoyed the mellow music and great appetizers, we are thankful you came. In addition to connecting people to volunteer opportunities, the event raised funds that will support the Brant United Way and the 60+ programs and services they support each year. Thank you!
To all of those who won a prize – Congratulations! Now the real work begins. REMEMBER – we can help you find a placement, but assuring you complete your hours before the deadline is your responsibility. If you do not complete your hours by the deadline, you will forfeit your prize. If you need assistance finding a good volunteering fit, we can send an e-mail to you and that organization as a way of introduction, and to get you off on the right foot. Going forward we will also be checking in monthly with you to see how your experience is going and to provide any answers to questions you may have and cheer you along as you aim to reach the goal of hours you bid. To check on your volunteer requirements give us a shout at or call 519-752-7848. A blank volunteer log sheet can be downloaded here. To submit your completed form and to reunite with your prize, connect with the Brant United Way!
Thanks for thinking outside the box with us. We had a blast and we hope you did too!

Thank you to Brant United Way’s GenNext committee for stepping up to support women and thank you to The Arlington Hotel, Closet Coutour Boutique and RBC Scotland for helping GenNext in the collection of items. A great success!

Want to Partner with GenNext?
We're looking for local non-profits to partner with for upcoming Pop Up Volunteering opportunities. We classify a "Pop Up" as high-impact, lower-commitment opportunities to get involved in local charities and make a difference in our community. Since GenNext started in fall 2013, our Pop Ups have included packing Christmas Baskets for local families during the holidays, wrapping gifts in support of student nutrition programs, painting a multi-purpose room, and helping with spring yard work for local agencies. We know that young professionals are short on time, and are looking for ways to feel connected to their community. Introduce your organization to our team by partnering with us for our next Pop Up volunteering day.
We've recently outlined what constitutes a Pop Up Volunteering opportunity , and answered some frequently asked questions about these events. We'd love to work with your organization in the future, and would love to hear from you about what that might look like. See this document for further clarification, and if Pop Up Volunteering looks like a good fit for your organization, please reach out to our GenNext team at email@example.com
